Casa Carrillo is releasing a second size of its Perez-Carrillo Pledge Purple: a 5 1/4 x 52 Robusto, expected to arrive at retailers next week.

Pledge Purple was introduced earlier this year as a limited-production offshoot of the Perez-Carrillo Pledge. It uses the same Connecticut Havana wrapper found on the original Pledge — grown by Dunn & Foster in Connecticut — aged an extra five years. Underneath, the blend differs from the original: a Mexican binder paired with all-Nicaraguan fillers from Condega, Estelí, and Ometepe.

The first Pledge Purple release was a 6 x 54 Toro; the new Robusto comes in ten-count boxes. Both sizes are produced in limited quantities at select times throughout the year, at a reported suggested retail price of $16.50 per cigar.
