La Flor Dominicana has begun shipping its limited-edition Andalusian Bull 10th Anniversary Maduro to retailers. The release marks ten years since the original Andalusian Bull — arguably the company's most sought-after and critically acclaimed release — which pays homage to Andalusia, Spain, the birthplace of company owner Litto Gomez.
The anniversary edition introduces a Maduro counterpart to the original: a Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper replaces the Ecuadorian Corojo of the original, while the distinctive 6 1/2 x 52 x 64 figurado format remains. The rest of the blend features Dominican tobaccos from the Gomez family farms in La Canela, from a 2016 crop that has since been fermented and aged.
Production is limited to 5,000 ten-count boxes, with a suggested retail price of $35 per cigar. “The Andalusian Bull 10th Anniversary Maduro had to be an Andalusian Bull, but one that looks darker and tastes sweeter. I just want our supporters to love it as much as they love the original Andalusian Bull. That's all I dream about,” said Litto Gomez.
